At Windsor International School, the safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. Within the classroom, teachers establish clear safety guidelines and age-appropriate expectations. All toys and materials are carefully selected to suit the developmental needs of our students. Safety locks are installed on classroom doors and placed well out of children’s reach. Our front entrance is equipped with an auto-lock system to ensure that only authorized individuals can access the building.
Our school building has been thoughtfully designed and adapted to fit a preschool environment, with careful attention given to child safety, accessibility, and functionality. Outdoor areas, such as balconies used for sensory play, are securely enclosed and regularly inspected.
When students go on walks or excursions, including visits to nearby parks, they wear Windsor hats for easy identification. Students hold onto safety rope handles while walking, and our youngest learners are transported in buggies or strollers. To support safe travel, a teachers assists each class when crossing streets and remains stationed at the entrance and exit points during outdoor activities.
In the event of an emergency such as an earthquake or fire, Windsor will evacuate to a nearby designated evacuation site. Emergency drills are conducted monthly so that all children become familiar with safety procedures. In case of an actual emergency or school closure, notifications will be promptly shared via our homepage and through our official social media channels.
Our campus is located on land that has received the highest safety and stability rating from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. We are fully equipped with emergency supplies, including food, water, and first aid kits to support all students and staff for a minimum of three days. All Windsor staff members undergo annual CPR and first aid certification training, and our campus is equipped with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), with staff trained in its use.
